A Stronger Candidate in 2023

Waste Water & Housing

Waste Water & Housing

Waste Water & Housing

These two issues have grown to be more challenging for Harwich and the Cape collectively, to say the least over the last 12 months.  A strategic plan that works to look at both issues through one lens is vital to create a plan for our future.  In the last 18 months since my last run for a seat on the Board, we have not moved the needle with respect to housing.  This is unacceptable by any measure.  50% of employees that work on Cape drive over the bridge daily to their jobs.  This is unsustainable for our small business owners, our schools, our police and fire departments.  The difficulty that we as a Town are having hiring and retaining quality employees, both publicly and privately, is a direct result of our lack of reasonably priced housing.

Taxes & Budget

Waste Water & Housing

Waste Water & Housing

Our school budget has exploded by 48% over the last 10 years.  This is also unsustainable and it's our students who will ultimately suffer.  Our next budget will call for $74,000,000.00.  I promise that I will make our budget a top priority as soon as I am elected.  If you are like me, you are asking two questions.  Why is the budget so high?  How are we going to pay for this?

OUR FUTURE

Waste Water & Housing

OUR FUTURE

I was appointed to the Local Planning Committee last year and at our first meeting I was voted in as Vice Chair.  The LPC's charge is to create the next Local Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Harwich.  Serving on this Committee has been a valuable opportunity for me to learn and understand more about our Town which will undoubtably make me a strong voice and an asset to the BOS and for Harwich.
